Shift Supervisors in the Material Handling area are responsible for supervising operators in achieving safe daily production in the factory area related to material handling (storage and delivery of material). The performance of shifts led will be measured through achievements related to Work Safety, Management of Environmental Aspects, Ensuring the availability and transportation of raw materials, intermediate products (slag) and final products (copper) for the continuity of smelter operations.


The Material Handling process will cover several production units such as Ship Uploader and Loader, Belt Conveyor, Concentrate Storage Shelter, Tripper Car, Flux Storage Shelter, Concentrate Bedding Plant Shelter, Revert Handling Shelter, Scrapper Reclaimer, Front End Loaders, Truck.


Shift Supervisor will focus on daily operational tactics, ensure safe execution of tasks and optimize processes, working closely with internal leadership and the Technical Service team. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for tactical coordination with several other Sections within the factory environment (Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Process Control, etc.).


This position will report to the Section Manager Materials Handling & Slag Concentrator.


Main challenges in this position:


Process complexity, team leadership, time management, effective communication, shift work schedules, physical work in the field (fatigue management).

Preferred Qualifications:


Education, certification and experience:


SMA/SMK graduate and has more than 10 years experience in leading shift operational workers in chemical, metal or mineral processing plants.

OR

Diploma (D-I, D-II, or D-III) in a technical field and more than 7 years experience in leading shift operational workers in chemical, metal or mineral processing plants.

OR

Bachelor degree (S1) in technical field and more than 5 years experience in leading shift operational workers in chemical, metal or mineral processing plants.

Minimum Certified First Operational Supervisor (POP)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


Operational and/or technical experience and knowledge of safe and efficient operations for the following:

Material Handling : Belt Conveying, Front End Loader, Tripper Car, Scrapper & Reclaimer, Ship Unloader and Loader,

Experience in solid material transportation process from Ship to Storage Facility via belt conveyor and mobile equipment

Experience working in operations following standard integrated planning (operation/maintenance planning and scheduling) and routines.

Proven experience in managing field operations workers, by creating and maintaining the right work culture i.e. discipline on safety, environment and pursuit of excellence.

Able to communicate in English (read, write and verbal) well.

Have persuasive skills to influence parties outside of direct supervision.

Experience with Indonesian regulations regarding Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) for appropriate mineral/metal processing.

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Understanding of work using MS Office and other reporting systems.

Skilled in following the application of safety and hazard recognition.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Main Duties and responsibilities of this position:


Occupational Safety and Environmental Aspects


Responsible for the safety of all team members under his supervision. Responsible for the safety of everyone who works in his control area.

Controlling the daily operations of the plant consistently meeting all environmental regulations and commitments.

Proactively lead the team to achieve production targets safely by implementing all relevant Safety and Environmental programs, including Fatal Risk management (FRM).

Provide safety briefings (safety talk) before starting work either for process members, maintenance or sub contractors (general labor).

Leading his team in identifying hazards, establishing risk controls, and ensuring the effective implementation of critical controls in the field.

Ensure team members follow the SOP for each job. The Shift Supervisor proactively evaluates SOPs and becomes a conduit for information if there are any deficiencies in an SOP
