Call for Applicants! International AIDS Conference 2026 in Brazil Full Scholarship



If you are at least 18 years old by 26 July 2026 and are working, volunteering, or studying in the field of HIV, you are invited to apply for a scholarship for AIDS 2026. The deadline to submit your application is 27 January 2026 at 23:59 CET. We will not accept any applications after this time. You will be notified of the results by email in early April 2026. The IAS will offer both in-person and virtual scholarships for AIDS 2026. When you apply, please choose your preferred attendance option and specify the types of financial support you need to take part. Keep in mind that due to the high level of demand, we might not be able to provide full scholarships to every selected applicant.

Financial support

Support for attending in person includes: 

  • In-person plus virtual registration, which includes: 
  • Access to all conference sessions, satellite sessions, poster discussion sessions, the exhibition, the Global Village, and pre-conferences in person.
  • Online access to all conference sessions, satellite sessions, and pre-conferences streamed live on the platform, along with session recordings, on-demand content, e-posters, and the virtual Global Village.
  • Travel support, which covers a pre-paid economy class return flight from the nearest international airport in your home country for the duration of the conference.
  • Accommodation in a single room at a budget hotel for the entire length of the conference.
  • A daily living allowance for each day of the conference.

Support for virtual participation includes: 
  • online access to all conference sessions, satellite events, and pre-conferences, which are live-streamed on the platform, along with session recordings and on-demand materials, e-posters, and the virtual Global Village.

Policies

The following candidates will be given priority: abstract presenters, workshop facilitators and co-facilitators, and Global Village organizers and co-organizers whose submissions have been accepted for the conference. Applicants from low- and middle-income countries. Applicants who belong to key populations or are living with HIV. Young people and early-career researchers under the age of 35. Applicants who have not previously received a scholarship for an International AIDS Conference.
