Murdoch scholarships
A scholarship is a payment made to an eligible student to support their study. It is not a loan and does not have to be repaid. Most scholarships are not intended to be used to pay tuition fees, but can help to cover university costs such as books, living expenses and transport.
At Murdoch we offer scholarships for a range of students including:
- international students
- students facing financial hardship
- students with records of high achievement
- students studying specific courses
There are also a number of scholarships offered by external providers, including government and private organisations. Find out if you're eligible.
Government scholarships
Depending on your situation, you may be able to apply for other types of scholarships, such as the Australia Awards Scholarships. These scholarships are open to international students from participating countries, allowing the recipients to complete study, research and professional development.
The scholarships are offered by the Australian government to help create a generation of world leaders with the skills and research to improve their country’s future.

- Antimicrobial Resistance and Infectious Diseases (AMRID) Research Laboratory at Murdoch University is offering 7 scholarships to students who are Enrolled in an Honours Project supervised by Professor Geoffrey Coombs.
- Available to students in their penultimate year of vet studies to use in their final year.
- Available to students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and intending to complete an extramural placement.
- Murdoch University is offering a $3000 accommodation scholarship to eligible international students who are relocating to Perth, one of the most affordable capital cities in Australia, and commencing an eligible Murdoch course in 2021.
- Available to international students starting a one year honours degree at Murdoch, valued at $10,000.
- Available to international students currently studying at Murdoch and achieving academic excellence.
- Available for domestic and international undergraduate students participating in our student exchange program.
- Available for international students commencing a bachelor, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters by coursework degree in the 2020. 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 intakes.
- Available to international students currently living in Australia and starting a Murdoch coursework degree at one of our Western Australian campuses in 2020 2024, worth 20% of your tuition fees.
- Available to high achieving students studying honours or masters by coursework in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental and Conservation Sciences, Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine.Opening Date: 06/07/2020Closing Date: 01/11/2020
