1. University of Bonn Scholarship

The University of Bonn has been hosting a massive program of SDG Fellowship with an aim to foster joint research between professors of the University of Bonn and post-doctoral scientists in all areas of specialization that conduct research primarily on a topic addressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as set forth by the United Nations in its Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. The scientists should research and teach together with a professor from the University of Bonn for one or two semesters. The funding is for a period of at least 3 and not more than 12 months.

2. DAAD Scholarship Media Studies Scholarship

For the Master’s Program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, at least one year of professional experience in a media-related field and advanced skills in English. For the International Media Studies program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least one year of professional experience in a media-related field acquired after the completion of their first degree. The Master’s Program is held in English and students will have to provide proof of good verbal and written language skills in English. This is usually given in form of a language test completed in their country of origin from a recognized institution. This does not apply for applicants’ native languages.


3. Hamburg University Scholarship

for students enrolled at the University of Hamburg. With its merit scholarship program, Universität Hamburg supports outstanding international students and doctoral researchers of all subjects and degree levels who are actively involved in a social or intercultural context. The awarding of a merit scholarship allows recipients to concentrate fully on their studies and gives them the opportunity to develop their skills.

The Helmut-Schmidt-Programme is designed to further qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. Very good graduates with a first university degree get the chance to obtain a master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance to the social, political and economic development of their home country.


5. Scholarships for Master of Public Policy and Good Government

The Helmut-Schmidt-Programme is designed to further qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. Very good graduates with a first university degree get the chance to obtain a master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance to the social, political and economic development of their home country.


6. Friedrich Every Foundation Scholarship

Applicants come from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Students in any subject area are eligible to apply, if they demonstrate excellent school or academic merit, wish to study in Germany, are committed to the values of social democracy and live by them. Scholarships are awarded to highly-performing students and include a comprehensive seminar programme to help enhance the candidates’ social competences and academic skills. Individual support by an on-site liaison lecturer is another benefit of the sponsorship. Each year up to 40 students are awarded FES sponsorships. They are paid a monthly amount of EUR 750 in Bachelor’s, Diplom, Magister, state examination programmes or EUR 850 or, respectively, when doing a Master’s course. Furthermore, costs for health insurance are funded and scholars with a child receive a family allowance of EUR 276. The scholarship does not have to be repaid.


7. DAAD Scholarship for Language and Cultural Exchange to Germany

The German Academic Exchange Centre funds up to 4 weeks of language courses of German universities. The course takes place in Germany. While the candidate’s suggestions are taken into consideration, it’s DAAD that makes the final decision about the location. The scholarship is in the amount of EUR 850 + lump sum.


8. Crossculture Germany Program 

With the CCP Fellowships, the CrossCulture Programme (CCP) funds around 100 professionals and committed volunteers from over 40 countries each year. During two to three months of practical training in host organisations in Germany or in CCP partner countries, participants deepen their expertise and acquire intercultural skills. In turn, the host organisations benefit from the expertise, regional knowledge and networks of the CCP fellows. The participants then bring their experiences gained abroad into their everyday working life when they return to their home organisation.


9. Einstein Foundation Scholarship to Study on Germany

Awarded by the Einstein Forum and the Daimler and Benz Foundation The Einstein Forum and the Daimler and Benz Foundation are offering a fellowship for outstanding young thinkers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. The purpose of the fellowship is to support those who, in addition to producing superb work in their area of specialization, are also open to other, interdisciplinary approaches – following the example set by Albert Einstein.
