About The Charles Causley Trust
The Charles Causley Trust seeks to preserve the memory of the late Charles Causley, raise awareness and appreciation of his work and promote writing and other arts within and beyond the community in which he lived, particularly (but not exclusively) across the wider South West of EnglandOur main activities are:– Preserving Causley's former home, Cyprus Well, and making it available as a place to live and work through rentals and staycations– Educational work in schools and other workshops to promote writing and the arts– An annual international poetry competition and verse contest for young people– The Causley Festival– Opportunities for leadership within an organization on work in the arts and cultural heritage sector.

- Registration closed : 28th of February 2025
- winners will be informed in April 2025 and awarded at the Launceston Poetry Festival (30 May – 1 June 2025).
- The first prize winner will receive £1,000
- The second prize winner will receive £200
- The third prize winner will receive £100.
- There will also be two Highly Commended placed poets.
- The Charles Causley International Poetry Competition 2025 is open to anyone, including applicants from outside the UK, who is aged 18 or over by the closing date of the competition
- Submissions must be written in English
- The competition closes at midnight (UK time) on Friday 28 February 2025
- First prize is £1,000, second prize is £200 and third prize is £100 There will also be two special prizes for two poets
- There is no limit to the number of entries an individual participant may submit The fee for the first poem is £8 and each additional poem submitted at the same time costs £56 Entries must be submitted and paid for via the "Online Competition Entry" button on the competition website Please also enclose a completed entry form with your donation
- Mailed entries must be accompanied by a completed registration form and full payment All entries will be judged anonymously by a panel of judges One registration form may be used for multiple entries
- Contest entries will not be returned so please keep a copy of your submission
- Changes to submitted poems are no longer permitted Entrants may withdraw their entry from the competition by notifying the Trust However, entry fees will not be refunded
- The Charles Causley Trust reserves the right to change these rules if it deems it necessary or if circumstances arise beyond the control of the Charles Causley Trust Any changes to the rules will be published on the Charles Causley Trust website
- Entries must be made under the entrant's real name
- The Charles Causley Trust accepts no liability for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any entrant as a result of entering the competition
- Current employees or directors of the Charles Causley Trust are not eligible to enter this Competition
- This Competition and these Rules shall be governed by English law and all disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts As a condition of entering the Competition, entrants must guarantee that they will not breach the laws of their country of residence
- Posthumous entries will not be considered
